Tournament regulations

The rules every team must follow so the tournament is run fairly, safely and in the spirit of the game.

  1. Purpose

To ensure the tournament is run fairly, safely and in accordance with sporting principles.

  2. Tournament system

After the district qualifiers, six district champions and the two best district runners-up reach the final stage. The final stage consists of quarter-finals, semi-finals, a third-place match and the final.

  3. Squad

Between 7 and 12 players plus one team official. No player may be added once the tournament has started. Teams reaching the final may make at most two player changes.

  4. Player eligibility

A player may represent only one team.

  5. Licensed players

A squad may contain at most two licensed players. Players holding an active licence in the 2025–2026 season count as licensed.

  6. Foreign players

A squad may contain at most four foreign players. Anyone without TRNC citizenship counts as a foreign player.

  7. Age requirement

The minimum age is 15. Written parental consent is mandatory for players under 18.

  8. Match rules

Matches are played over two halves of 20 minutes, with a 5-minute interval.

  9. Discipline

Two yellow cards carry a one-match ban. A red card carries at least a one-match ban. Fighting, fielding an ineligible player, identity fraud and physical interference with the referee are grounds for expulsion.

  10. Forfeits

A team that fails to take the field within 10 minutes, or fields an ineligible player, forfeits the match 3-0.

  11. Kit and equipment

At registration each team declares two kit colours, one primary and one alternate. Only these two may be worn; using an undeclared colour is a breach of the rules. All players in a team must wear the same colour. The organisation may supply bibs where needed. Metal-studded boots are prohibited.

  12. Fair play

All participants must observe the rules of sportsmanship.

  13. Health and responsibility

Players are responsible for their own state of health.

  14. Final stage

In the quarter-finals and semi-finals a draw goes straight to penalties. In the final, extra time or penalties may be applied at the organisation's discretion. Yellow cards are cleared; direct red card bans carry over.

  15. Appeals

Appeals must be submitted to the organising committee in writing.

  16. Authority

On any matter not covered by these regulations, the decision rests with the organising committee.
